Widely, Natural Gas is used as alternative fuel for the automotive sector.
The use of Natural Gas as a fuel has numerous advantages, mostly for the Planet safeguard.
In fact, it allows a reduction of CO2 emissions of about 33%, of nitrogen oxides of about 75%, and of fine dust of about 97%, making an extremely significant contribution to the reduction of pollution produced by cars and by other means of transport.

Main Features
GI&E has developed its own standardized line of CNG Modules (Green Gas).
Green Gas module is made of a reciprocating vertical compressor with fully loaded cylinders specifically designed for CNG refueling.
The 1 to 4 stages Green Gas compressor has a final discharge pressure up to 250 bar.
Compared with traditional products, Green Gas machine innovative design structure allows a dramatic reduction in vibration, improving reliability and reducing noise level, even in heavier running conditions.
The standard type of compressor is designed by GI&E to offer to our Customers the best plant solution in terms of reliability and performance, favoring both energy efficiency (= low operating costs) and easy plant erection (= low cost of building and maintenance).
At GI&E, we have developed different standardized solutions based on flow requirement:
- CS line
- CM line
- CL line
In Micro LNG plants, Natural Gas is compressed to 15, 20, 30 or 40 bar and liquefied at -160°C through a cryogenic heat exchanger. Product is finally stored in a cryogenic vessel.
GI&E Vertical Compressor can be used to compress Natural Gas inside a refrigeration system that pre-cools a combined flow of gas from the distribution network and refrigerant.
In this application, the suction pressure is about 4 bar with a delivery pressure of about 30 bar.
